Considered by many as new Zealand's benchmark Pinot Noir, Felton Road are renowned throughout the world for unblemished quality. Their philosophy is driven by sustainability and the wines are produced by way of biodynamic viticultural practices in harmony with their land, the stars and the moon. The winery is three-tier gravity fed to accommodate a 'hands off' approach throughout these crucial stages of production. Minimal human intervention during the winemaking process allows the fruit to better express itself through the unique characteristics of its origins.

The Calvert Vineyard is located on Felton Road, just 1km east of The Elms Vineyard and the winery. The soils are deep heavy silts with a thin layer of loess topsoil. Meticulous summer management of a canopy (VSP) ensures even and early fruit maturity. Shoot thinning, shoot positioning, leaf plucking, bunch thinning and harvest are all carried out by hand, ensuring optimum quality fruit. Cover crops are planted between rows to promot vine balance and assist in improving soil health and biodiversity.
